Floyd Mayweather Jr. says Manny Pacquiao will defeat Amir Khan. |
The retired Mayweather faced the question on who’s going to win between Pacquiao and Khan during a recent Q&A session with some fans. Watch the video below posted by Fighthype.com.
“Pacquiao. I believe Pacquiao's gonna win,” said the American star.
“[It’s because of] The movement. The angles that he [Pacquiao] uses,” added Mayweather, who outpointed Pacquiao in 2015, a bout that went down as the richest ever in boxing history.
After fighting one more time – soundly defeating Andre Berto a few months after he beat Pacquiao – Mayweather has stayed retired, instead touring the world and holding appearances for fans.
Even in retirement, Mayweather remains a target of fighters who want a crack at him. The most notable is UFC star Conor McGregor, who is willing to challenge Mayweather in a boxing ring.
Pacquiao has always insisted about wanting a rematch with Mayweather, believing he can do better the second time around.
Khan himself wants a piece of the Las Vegas-based boxer, but the latter had ignored his pleas for a showdown.
Now, Khan has a good chance of getting the next best thing in taking on Pacquiao, who remains the best welterweight in the world since Mayweather retired.
Mayweather, for his part, just doesn’t see the younger, 30-year-old Khan beating the older, 38-year-old Pacquiao.
"I can see why Pacquiao has accomplished so much in boxing...his punching power and his angles, his speed and his footwork," said Mayweather. (Dino Maragay Associated Press/Philstar.com)
