Canelo Alvarez drops down to junior middleweight and challenge titleholder Liam Smith on September 17 at the main event of an HBO PPV fight card, Alvarez promoter Golden Boy and Smith promoter Frank Warren announced this boxing news on Friday, June 24.

Prior to the announcement, the mega fight of Canelo and Gennady Golovkin on Fall of 2017 has been all set to happen at last!
