Thurman beats Garcia to unify the welterweight belt |
Undefeated welterweight champions Keith "One Time" Thurman and Danny "Swift" Garcia are returning to the boxing ring at the Barclays Center on Saturday, March 4 for their highly-anticipated world title unification clash.
UPDATE: Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs) won a twelve round split decision over Danny Garcia (33-1, 19 KOs) to unify the WBC, WBA world titles. The scores were 116-112 for Thurman, 115-113 for Garcia, and 115-113 for Thurman.

The long-awaited Premier Boxing Championship event - Thurman vs. Garcia fight LIVE on Showtime Championship Boxing production on CBS beginning at 9 p.m. ET and will be stream online on SHOSports.
Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) against Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs), two hard punchers in their prime looking to assert their dominance in the division that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao dominated for so long.
They are only the third set of undefeated welterweights in boxing history to unify the titles. The other two: On Dec. 6, 1985, Donald Curry (23-0) KO’d Milton McCrory (27-0-1) in the 3rd round to unify the WBA and IBF titles, and on Sept. 18, 1999, Felix Trinidad (35-0) beat Oscar De La Hoya (31-0) by majority decisión to unify the WBC and IBF titles.
Also, don't miss the exciting co-feature matchup between ESPN's 2016 "Prospect of the Year" Erickson Lubinand and knockout artist Jorge Cota. The 21-year-old Lubin has raced to a 17-0 record in just three years, knocking out once-beaten Juan Ubaldo Cabrera in December. Cota has just one loss, with 22 of his 25 victories by knockout. Their fight is a title eliminator for the WBC super welterweight title currently held by undefeated champion Jermell Charlo.
The Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia showdown will feature undefeated local favorite Heather Hardy returning to the ring to highlight the undercard action in a super bantamweight contest against Helen Joseph.
